  • Home Improvement

Dad, Mom and Trevor have been hard at work.  I don't know if I'll ever be able to repay them for all they've done for me this week let alone my life.  Dad finished texturing the upstairs and the hallway. Below is a before and after picture.

So all that's left to do is some painting and then putting in carpet.  If anyone knows of a good carpet place, please keep me posted.

Last week was exausting to say the least.  Not only was I working at Jones from 6am-4pm then off to Camp Marengo to lead worship.  It's 50mins from where I live.  So we usually didn't come home until 11:30pm.  Wow what a week.

For Erica's Birthday her parents got her a dog.
I think she named her Lily, but I could be wrong.
Either way she's still a cute dog.

  • Kez's Tech Tips
    Episode 3

You all know I love Google don't you?  If not I do.  And here's why.

Google Earth -  it is a amazing piece of software that is absolutely free.  I've already bragged on this before so I'll keep it short.  If you have a broadband connection and you enjoy world travel check this out.

Blogger - is probably the most eloquent blogging site behind Typepad.  Blogger is a google owned company and as all google stuff is completly free.  If you want to blog and your not into all the teeny bopper stuff - it's probably the best blogging site there is.  (Not the easies though)

GMail - is the best free email system is their.  Named the 2nd best advancement to the internet behind FireFox in 2005.  If you want a GMail account tell me and I'll invite you.

Picasa - a well designed photo organizer and editor.  Also free, I sense a theme.  This program allows you to quickly and easily organize your pictures.  Saves you time of remember where and when you saved your pictures.  Also the editor is pretty darn sweet.

Spreadsheets - my newest and favorite addition to the Google family.  Google spreadsheets are online spreadsheets.  It's a beautiful and simple web-based program that allows you to do nearly everything you can do in Excel and of course the best part.  IT IS FREE!  You have to sign up though and wait your turn.  I had to wait about a day.  I used this program on my Mac to create a .CSV for my wedding invitations.  It works great and the best part is that it saves my files to the internet so I don't have to worry about storage or accessibility.

Google also has online translator, Froogle - an internet search for the best prices on the internet, Stock information, and more. And it's all so simple and elegant.... and FREE.  I hope that Google keeps up the good work.

  • An Event-FULL Sunday!

What an awesome, yet tiring Sunday. First I got ready and picked up Sondra at her Apt.  Then we headed off to church.  At church we had a service to remember, not due to the music or teaching (although it was good also), because Andrew (our pastor) and Cindy (his wife) presented their new adopted baby, Josiah Nehemiah Guertler.   In  Hebrew Josiah means "Supported by G-d" and Nehemiah means "Gift of G-d".

Today is the official custody hearing so we all have them in our prayers.  After the service we went over to the Guertler's for our small group picnic and also a rousing game over Beer Ball.  Yes, Beer Ball.  It's a game that I came up with where you take beer goggles that make you visually impaired like you were drunk and play kickball.  Although I did not get to play the game because we (Sondra and I) were off to Joel's HS Graduation.  Can't wait to hear how it went.

Joel's graduation was nice, it seems like yesterday I was graduating.  Joel graduated from Mansfield Christian They  had prayer, scripture reading and dedication.  It was quite different yet very similar to my graduation.  But then again they are all graduations are pretty similar.  Joel and many other's graduated with many college credit and several with Associate's Degree for NCSC.  Which is sweet if you ask me.  It gives him a huge head start in life.  Congratulations Joel and the class of 2006!  MCS_grads

After the ceremony we went to my parents to try a dinner that we were thinking about using for the wedding reception.  While we were there we started making a website/blog and an email account to update guest on information/RSVP for our wedding.  Check it out at here.

  •   Some Like It Hot!

... it's a movie made in the late 50s, but it's set in the late 20s.  When boot legging, underground clubs and upbeat Jazz music was in full swing. It has Marilyn Monroe meeting up with two guys, dressed as women to avoid the mob who are trying to kill them.  They play in an all girls traveling Jazz band.  Both like Sugar (played my Monroe), but one ends up falling in love (in a joking way) with a millionaire.  I must say it was very weird, but entertaining.  I miss the way/tempo that old movies delivered to the audience.

  • GI, Ultrasound, Xray, Wedding Bands and Frisbee

Yesterday I took off work because I had a doctor appointment.  I had to be at the hospital early and had to fast for 12 hrs before the test.  When I got to the hospital I first went into ultrasound which was quite weird since I'm a man and can't have babies.  After my ultrasound I had xrays of my spin taken.  Finally came in upper GI (I thank G-d that it wasn't lower, that involves a scope and a part of my body that's an exit only).  1st they have you eat these pop rocks things and drink water.  Then they give you this really thick barium stuff to drink and tell you not to burp.  The pop rocks then expand in your stomach and the barium sticks to the side of your intestines.  Then they take pictures of it using some kind of xray machines.

After I they finished I picked up Sondra and we went to the jeweler to pick out wedding bands.  We both got pretty sweet looking rings I must say.  After that we went over to her family's pool and hung out with her family.

Later that evening I went and played Ultimate Frisbee at Malabar school.  It was fun, but I miss playing w/ Tony.  It's hard to believe, but for the most part I was in shape.  We plan on meeting there every Tuesday for those who are interested.  Monday Jeff and I roller bladed and tonight we are running.  By August I should be in shape when I take Sondra's hand in marriage.

FYI - none of the pictures above are pictures of me, my ring or my frisbee

  • Listening to Charlie Hall right now...

We have all we need in You
And all we need is You
    All we need is You

Rich or poor God I want You more
Than anything that glitters in this world
    Be my all
    ,
    all consuming fire

You can have all my hands can hold
    My heart
    , mind,
    strength and soul
    Be my all
    ,
    all consuming fire

    All we need...

  • 6/6/06
Yesterday was the infamous "Mark of the Beast" day, being 6/6/6.  But actually those who actually study Revelation know that John, the writer of Revelation, was referring to Nero.  A Caesar of the time who was persecuting the early Church.  Still this did not stop the marketing teams across the world from cashing in on the opportunity of fear/chaos.   The re -release of a movie classic "Omen" opened along with many bands and artists launching there CD's in hopes of boosted sales.  When it's all said in done it was just another day that G-d has blessed us with life...

Over shadowed by the beast was the anniversary of "D-Day", which is much more historical and honorable.  Also my distant cousin, Ben Snyder, and his wife, Lauren, had baby Lydia.  Check her out...
